How to choose healthy food

Nowadays most of us have finally realized, that we “build” our health even through what we eat.
This is really a great step forward, if compared with some years ago when we weren’t concerned about what we eat, but it is not enough if we don’t act in the appropriate way.
We need to have a good knowledge to understand which food is the best for our health.
First thing to do is to follow the rhythms of nature and to choose at the market seasonal fruit and vegetables, understanding that they change from month to month.
There are many tables in the web where you can find what to buy. Try to look for more information on Google.
This new way of thinking started in Italy and is called SLOWFOOD.
This movement is a great alternative to fastfood and it envisions a world in which all people can eat a food that is good for their health and for the planet.
If we eat fresh food we have certainly lower risks of getting sick.

Fresh fruit adds vitamins and minerals to our body and fights aging.
Moreover fresh foods are without any artificial preservatives.
According to nutritionists, diets rich in fruits and vegetables reduce risk of stroke, hearth disease, high blood pressure, and some kind of cancer.
My advice is not always easy to follow, but try to cook and eat at home fresh fruit and vegetables as much as you can even if it involves more preparation time.
When you cook at home by yourself, using natural ingredients, you can dramatically increase the quality of your meals, but I know it is not always possible, especially during weekdays if you work far from home.
So in these days instead of a fat fastfood meal ( hot dogs or hamburgers) prefer a sandwich with cheese and salad and your favourite vegetables prepared by yourself or even better a soup.
